All set to unearth and unwrap in 2010
‘With our Derbyshire antique valuation days becoming increasingly popular to members of the public’, comments Charles Hanson, ‘we have extended the hours for free valuations from 11-3pm to 10am-4pm’.
The fortnightly antique valuation days which include silver and jewellery, ceramics and glass, toys, collectables, paintings, works of art, books and furniture are free to the public and items may be consigned to Hansons for entry into a suitable auction.
Alongside Charles Hanson is senior valuer David Greatwood and assistant valuer Mrs Vanessa Savage.
‘The joy of the valuation days is often the unknown, and wondering what is going to be unwrapped next’ commented Mrs Savage.
Star finds in 2009 at Hansons Mackworth Hotel antiques valuation days have includeda rare creamware teapot manufactured in around 1765 which sold for a record price of £69,000 in April.
