Hansons Auctioneers are delighted to announce that BBC Antiques expert Kate Bliss has joined the company as expert consultant in jewellery and silver.
Commenting on the appointment, Charles Hanson, manager of Hansons reported, 'we are delighted that Kate Bliss will assist Hansons as consultant in the specialist area of antique and modern jewellery and silver.
Kate will be available to meet clients who wish to have jewellery and silver assessed with a view to auction in one of our forthcoming sales or for insurance purposes'.
Kate Bliss is known to many from her appearances on Bargain Hunt and is also an appointed Fellow of the Gemological Association of Great Britain. 'With such qualifications, we are pleased that Kate will be able to advise our clients on all aspects on the valuation and sale of gold and precious gemstones and jewellery'.

Kate Bliss - Biography
Kate Bliss regularly appears as antiques expert on BBC’s Bargain Hunt and Flog It! and is a presenter on BBC’s Put Your Money Where Your Mouth Is. Encountering antiques from an early age whilst helping in her father’s saleroom in Herefordshire, Kate decided to read English Literature at Brasenose College, Oxford before studying Fine Art. As a member of the Royal Institution of Chartered Surveyors, she became the youngest shareholder and auctioneer at a local leading auction house. After gaining over seven years experience on the rostrum, Kate specialised in jewellery and silver and became a fellow of the Gemmological Association of Great Britain.
Kate currently combines regular television appearances with running her own Fine Art Valuation business. Kate is delighted to be assisting Hanson’s as jewellery and silver consultant.
