Saving the Staffordshire hoard for the County

Auctioneer Charles Hanson, manager of Hansons has joined the campaign to save the Staffordshire Gold Hoard.
Mr Hanson will descend on Stafford later this month to lead a fundraising valuation day and auction event. All monies raised shall go towards the acquisition, display and interpretation of the Hoard, the largest collection of Anglo-Saxon gold ever found.
The free event on Saturday 27 March will take place from 2pm-5pm at the Stafford Gatehouse Theatre.
Staffordshire County Councilor Ben Adams, lead Cabinet Member for Communities and Culture said, ‘we are delighted to welcome Charles Hanson to Stafford to help us with the effort'.
The Staffordshire Hoard Partnership has a massive fundraising target to achieve to keep the Hoard in the region.
The general public are invited to bring items along to the event to have them valued by Mr Hanson and his team of antique experts.
